Where It All Began
Sheena grew up in Louisiana where food isn't just a meal, it's a way of life. From backyard crawfish boils to slow-simmered étouffées, she learned early that the best cooking comes from the heart, not a box. Those flavors, those techniques, and that deep love for scratch-made food never left her.
When she made her way to Florida, she brought every bit of that Louisiana spirit with her. She wasn't about to keep it to herself.
The Beginning
It started with a food truck called Reel Cajun. No frills, just bold, authentic Cajun cooking served fresh out of a window. Word spread fast. People kept coming back not for the convenience, but for the food. Dishes made the way they're supposed to be made: from scratch, every single day.
Reel Cajun built something real, a loyal community of folks who believed, like Sheena and Sean, that good food has the power to bring people together.
The Next Chapter
The food truck dream grew bigger than a truck could hold. Reel Cajun evolved into Backwoods Social House, a full scratch kitchen right here in Cocoa, Florida. Same recipes. Same heart. Just more room at the table.
Everything on our menu is made from scratch, from the sauces and dry rubs to the Andouille-laced gravies and hand-battered tenders. Because that's the only way we know how to cook.
We're proud to call Cocoa, Florida home. Whether you're a longtime local or just passing through, there's a seat for you here. Come as you are and leave feeling like family.
